Birthday Make up

My everyday make up is pretty low key but as it was my birthday last week I wanted to make a little more effort when I went out for a wine-filled evening, and use some of the other products I have which get a little less love than my regulars.

I switched up quite a few things and added in some bits I generally skip for everyday make up, so here are a few of the things that I used.

MUFE Face and Body foundation
Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in 'Take a Chance'
Real Techniques contour brush
ELF Studio eyeshadow in 'Pebble'
Sephora nude coloured lip liner
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 'Skyline Pink'
Accessorize Bronzer in 'Golden Sands'
MAC Paint pot in 'Painterly'

I went for a lipgloss as I knew I couldn't be doing with checking or touching up lipstick during the evening, and this is an easy nude colour. Lip liner is something I never use so thought I'd crack it out...but honestly I can't say I noticed it at all  as it matched my lip colour. There was just a bit of this Revlon lipstick dabbed underneath the lipgloss when I left the house, but it didn't make it into the handbag.

I used the MAC paint pot on top of a generic eye primer and added a light colour to my inner corners as a highlight. I then dipped a fluffy eyeshadow brush into this dark 'greige' ELF eyeshadow and blended this from the outer corner, keeping it subtle.

I don't usually contour my face properly, just swirl a bit of bronzer on in a slap-dash style, but I concentrated on this a little more and used my Real Techniques brush for the job. I used a matte bronzer for this though, and the shimmery Accessorize bronzer is something I like to use as just a final sweep/highlighter over the top.
Finally, this Makeup Forever foundation is a favourite but didn't actually make the cut in the end as I decided I needed slightly heavier coverage for the evening due to my skin not playing ball.

So that was my little make up shake up for the evening. Not a million miles away from my everyday look but just added something a little extra and gave some of my lesser-used products a bit of air time.
