Rollers update

Last week I posted about my love for hair rollers, which you can catch here if you missed it. Plain old cheap and cheerful velcro rollers, which did a pretty good job at providing some long-lasting volume to my otherwise flat roots.

I got a bit carried away in the world of rollers and wanted bigger and better results...
In hindsight, I probably should have just stuck with what I knew worked and be done with it. But obviously curiosity (and the hope of finding those elusive 'holy grail' products!) got the better of me.

Enter my next flurry in the world of rollers.

Without wanting to state the obvious...these are large velcro rollers. That you sleep in. Well, according to Boots.
I saw a post about these on Jen's blog and figured that this was the PERFECT way to get the big hair of my previous rollers, but with minimal time spent wandering round looking like a wacko. I was also hoping this would mean I could do night-time hair washing and not have dismally flat/boring hair the next day (this is a big issue for me. Seriously).

You get 6 rollers for a little over £5, so whilst not as cheap as my old faithfuls, they're still very much an easy purchase to make.

The velcro bit is the same as standard rollers, but instead of plastic these are stuffed with a tube of foam to keep the shape and make them solid enough to hold the curl shape squishy enough to sleep in comfortably. Or so the idea goes.
Fat chance of that.

Other people seem to have dealt with these rollers much better than I have, but I have to say I had a thoroughly rubbish night's sleep, followed by neck ache and grouchiness the next morning. For me, they don't squidge enough to be comfortable and I couldn't get my head remotely comfy in any position. But hey, that's just me and they might be perfectly fine for you. If you're not a fan of getting any sleep.

Any tips to make these bearable would be most welcome because the idea is good, it's just the reality isn't quite working for me.

In the meantime I have dabbled again, in what I promise will be my last venture into the world of hair rollers. Again, I was influenced by a blog review and picked these up on a brief trip to Boots yesterday.

I am yet to experiment but when I do I'll let you know. I don't have particularly high hopes as I think that they've been around for so long that if they were that good we'd all already be using them. But my hope of finding a miracle product continues to draw me in! (Having said that, I have no idea when I'd be satisfied that I'd found 'the one'...often think that everyone else must just be too easily pleased).

Any suggestions for similar things then please do let me know. On a secondary note, please also reassure me I'm not the only person who found 'sleeper' rollers impossible.
