Autumn Lipstick - Topshop Beguiled

Despite owning more lipsticks than I could ever wear on my face, I've never had any of those dark classic autumnal shades before. It's not something I would spend a high end amount of money on and none of the high street offerings have grabbed me.

Enter Topshop's lipstick in 'Beguiled'.

My first darker shade and my first Topshop lippie, bought on a complete whim, and I have to say I love it.

It's fairly purse-friendly at £8 and the shade is spot on for me - dark and berry enough to look different from a classic red lip, but not so dark that it's intimidating to wear out.
And, the most important bit for me, it actually wears well. This doesn't mean it's budge-proof (because it's not) but the stain of colour will stay even if you don't reapply and I didn't get the dreaded patchy wearing off line. The formula is more satin than a true matte, but I think this helps make the shade a bit more wearable for those who are dabbling with the darker hues. And don't be put off by the slight shimmer in the stick - this is all but gone when you actually swatch the colour.

All in all, a good effort from Topshop.
