Hello November!

These posts have been a little bit forgotten in recent months but I'm back with a round-up of what awaits me in November.

1. Late Halloween. Although Halloween was technically in October (and I did make Halloween cookies, carve pumpkins and feed trick or treaters actually on the day) I will be having my spooky evening a day late with Mark. We're going to get in some yummy food, light the pumpkin and my festive ghost candles and curl up with some scary tv and films. Once we've watched the Halloween themed X Factor, obviously... I love horror films but we don't end up watching many of them, so it's the perfect excuse. Even if I will then make Mark go upstairs and turn the bedroom light on for me before I can go up...

2. Bonfire Night. Autumn festivities are actually my favourite of the year (yep, even more so than Christmas, shock) and I'm looking forward to wrapping up in so many layers that I resemble the Michelin man and standing in the cold to watch the local fireworks display. Sadly they've done away with the bonfire and sparklers now, but it's something I've done every year and makes me feel nostalgic.

3. My Birthday! I didn't realised this had come around so soon until a friend asked if I'm excited for it and then I realised it's in 2 weeks! No idea what I'm going to do for it but it's on a Saturday this year so I need to get thinking. So far though I am rejecting the age I'm going to be turning. Getting older doesn't usually bother me at birthdays, after all it's unavoidable. But 25 just doesn't quite sit right with me yet.

4. A mini-break. Although we haven't long been to Corfu, the flight vouchers we got as compensation for our troublesome journey do have a time limit for use so we are thinking of taking a mini-break after my birthday for a long weekend somewhere. We're thinking outdoorsy with cosy clothes and things to explore.

5. New colleague. We have a new colleague joining us in November and I'm really looking forward to it. We're quite a small team in our office so it'll be really good to have someone new in to freshen things up a little. I'm going to be their line manager so they will also be lightening so of my workload which is a relief and I'll get some management experience. Hopefully all will go smoothly!

So that's it for me I think. What will you be getting up to in November?
